Homework Wk9 T1

This week we were given homework. We were given tasks to do with reading, writing, spelling, maths and also some extra work that I decided to complete as well. I enjoyed doing my homework this week because we were given very fun tasks. Theses tasks allowed me to use my creativity with creating posters. I enjoyed the extra homework because we had to create a brochure for a country that we could choose! I chose Japan and made the best brochure possible! Even though I am not familiar with that a brochure is, I think it turned out great! Take a look at my homework for the last week of Term 1!

For homework this week we were given different tasks to complete. Ranging from reading to writing to maths to spelling and also extra work which I completed as well. I enjoy doing homework because the tasks that we are given are very fun and give us a chance to be creative in whatever way we like. Maths Warm-Up

Yesterday, Miss Tupou taught the class some new strategies for maths. I had only learnt how to do it today as I was busy doing something else. Learning it today I didn't know what to do but I'm glad Miss Tupou taught explained how to do it again. The strategy was very interesting and I enjoyed learning something new today! Here is evidence of our learning as a class!

Maths Warm-Up #2

For maths we learnt a strategy that we could use when doing times table. Miss Tupou would put up questions on the board and we would then try and figure out the answer using the strategy we just learnt. Here is our working out for this maths warm-up!

Homework W3 T1

Figure Me Out Poster!

For maths today Room 11 worked on an awesome and fun activity. We had to think of 8 questions about ourselves that include numbers. For example: I am 22 yrs old. I would then need to think of a sum that would add up to 22 using multiplication, addition and so on. 11 X 2 = 22. After we recorded our 8 questions we then created a figure me out poster. It was very fun designing our posters and we all had creative ideas! Here are some of Room 11's posters!

Maths - Camp

Today our task for maths was to use the list of our food we will be taking to camp and calculate how much each of the items are using the Countdown Mailer. We then had to calculate how may we think we might need for 60 people and write the cost next to the items! I decided to work with Honey for this task. Here are our calculations!

Number of the day!

For maths our warm up was to do Number of the day. Number of the day is a website where you are given a number and you have to answer the questions that are given. For example - My number is 528 5 more would mean 528 + 5. Here are my answers.

Fractions, Decimals and Percentages!

In class we have been learning how to turn fractions into decimals and percentages. I enjoyed learning it and we also got some homework where we had to use the strategy we learnt to turn a fraction into a decimal and percentage! Here are my working outs!

For maths today we had tasks given to us online. Our task was to fill out a graph about measurements. Take a look at the first tasks. Keep tuned because I will be posting 4 more tasks for this measurement activity!

Polygons

For maths last term we were focusing on Geometry and for one of our sessions we learnt about polygons. A polygon is a 2D shape. Take a look at one of the worksheets that we were given to complete for our task.

BNZ Closed for Good

Today BNZ came to our school to teach us about banking and how it works. We had learned lots of different things and we had so much fun. We also got into groups and played a board game. Take a look at some photos that were taken.
