Our Annual Culture Festival 2018

Today was Glen Taylor Schools Annual Culture Festival and it was awesome! So many beautiful colours, music, yum food, awesome dances and entertaining intermissions. Our student leaders had hosts the festival today and we did a pretty good job! I loved getting to see all the different tastes of dances and music from every culture group and everyone was absolutely stunning in their awesome uniform! I was in the Samoan group and it was very fun performing on the stage, even though it was very very hot. Island plates were on sale also some homemade/shop sweets from parents! It was a fun, relaxing and exciting day and because it was my last Culture Festival at Glen Taylor School, it was the best!

Here are a couple of photos taken from today! Enjoy!

Pasifika Pearls 2018 ( O.G )

This year Pasifika Pearls is now taken over by... the one and only MISS SIALE! The year has zoomed by so fast that the O.G Pearls have already had a performance. We performed in front of around 230 people last night in the school hall! Sadly the O.G Pearls are starting to decrease as we only have 5 people in our group and next year there will be only 3! Wow!

Anyways, last night was one of my favourite pearls performance because we all looked very pretty and we also performed a new Fijian Dance! Thanks to Miss Tupou and Whaea Pene for helping Miss Siale out with our costumes and hair!
Here are some photos and a video of us girls getting ready for our big performance!

Family Fun Day

Today I attended Glen Taylor School's Family Fun Day. Family Fun Day is a chance for parents to meet the principal and teachers of there children. There was also music, sausage sizzle, Mr Whippy and the swimming pool was open! I had a lot of fun dancing to the amazing remixes from DJ Vino! There was also a bouncy castle and different tables set for people that came in from the community! Like Marist Rugby Club, SKIDS and the TRC! Here are a couple of photos from Family Fun Day!

You thought the bouncy castle was only for kids!

Sadly it was the last disco of the year but it was surely a great way to end our incredible year.

One of Glen Taylor School's year 6 student has decided to take on Mr Shanks. They have been going on and on and on about who is the better dancer. Well, today we found out who it was. All the middles and seniors were there to judge. Everyone  screamed "OH YEAH" for Lexiannah and Mr Shanks. The winner was judged on who's "OH YEAH" was louder. It was a tight competition but at the end of the day our winner went home with a memory that wouldn't be forgotten.

Glen Taylor School's Disco

Today I attended the school disco that was planned by our friends of the school. I had a lot of fun dancing with my friends to the groovy music, singing along with the songs that DJ Vino played and most importantly having the time of my life. The lights were beaming here and there and the hall just kept on getting crowded with people. I even saw some parents taking on the dance floor and showing of their moves. Not just parents but also teachers. Me and my friends danced until our bones broke apart. We sang as loud as we could until our lungs went flying away. There was food on sale and glow sticks but once the clock hit 7:30 sadly it was time to go home. I will never forget tonight! Here is a slideshow of some photos that were taken.
