Student Led Conference

Today Glen Taylor School had there Student Led Conference. Student Led Conference is when the students bring in a family member or a caregiver and tell them about the learning that they have been doing inside class and the improvement that was made during there learning. We had showed them a slideshow with things that they need to know and there is also a picture that was taken just down below.

Alphabet Activity

For Inquiry today we were assigned to fill in a table with different landscapes from around the world. We had include a landscape for each letter of the alphabet and 13 of the landscapes had to be from New Zealand. We needed the name of the landscape, an image and 2-3 interesting facts about the landscape. Here are some of the landscapes I chose!

My goals for Term 3

Today we were given a table that has different subjects in each box. Our task was to insert a goal for that subject and how we can achieve that goal. Here is my goals for term 3!

My Holiday Poem

For writing today we had to create a poem about our holidays. We had to choose a place we went to in the holidays and use the 5 senses to create our poem. Take a look at my poem I had written and then pasted into a slideshow I made. I chose the MOVIES!

Quick Write #4

A Quick Write is when my teacher puts a picture up on the T.V and our tasks is to write a short paragraph on it. Rosa Parks - Inspirational Leader

For Inquiry today we had focused on Inspirational Leaders and our task was to choose an Inspirational Leader and create a character profile on them including pictures, colour and 6 interesting facts about them. I had chosen to do Rosa Parks as my inspirational leader because she stood up for the black having to do what the white people say and showed courage and how to be a successful leader. Here is my character profile I had created on Rosa Parks. I hope you all enjoy it and hopefully learn something about Rosa Parks while looking at my poster.

Characterisation...

One of our reading tasks last term was to finish the following task that was given on Characterisation. We were to choose a character from the book White Fang and create a Bird's Eye View on how we think there bedroom would look like. Here is the Bird's Eye View I had created.

My Holidays

This holidays I had a lot of fun. I had gone to heaps of different places and spent a lot of time with my family. We had 3 different BBQ'S and went to an Indoor Trampoline Park, Mini Golf, Ice Skating and the Movies. I had a spectacular time and everyday a bright smile would shine upon my face. 

Narrative Work

Today for writing we had to create a doc and name it Narrative Wring T2 20117. In this doc we were given the task to write the meanings of Simile, Metaphor, Personification and Synonymy. We then had to write different words for hot, cold, bad and good. Next we had to write down a small paragraph describing a photo that was put on the T.V. Here are my tasks.

Technology

For technology the Year 7's assignment is to create a takeaway box. I have designed mine to be like a noodle box and we have been working on it for a while now. I have finally finished and I have added in lots of pictures and colours. Take a look at mine just down below!

Inquiry Presentations

This term our focus for Inquiry is "My Part in the Community". We all had made up 6-8 different questions on our community and researched for the answer. We were to be creative and present it in a different way from last term. I had chosen to present mine in a  IMovie. Take a look at some photos that were taken of me when I was presenting.

Sir Peter Blake Trust

Today in the morning, the seniors of Glen Taylor School had gone to the hall to do some activities, games and we watched some videos about being a good leader. We had met a lawyer named Mike Hendricksen from the Sir Peter Blake Trust Team that had also talked to us about being good leaders and we also got the chance of asking him some questions after our session. KiwiCan

Today for KiwiCan we had watched a movie. We had watched the latest version of Beauty and the Beast. Beauty and the Beast would probably be one of my favourite movies and I also love the songs in the movie. The reason why we had watched a movie is because it was our last session for KiwiCan this term and we had a choice of watching a movie or playing games. It was raining so we decided to watch a movie. Homework W10

For homework this week our task was to create our own special event and include advertisement for it like posters, radio advert, T-V advert and lots more other ways,. I had decided to create a poster for my advertisement and I had created it on Google Drawing. My event is a cultural festival called Around The World where people can walk across a massive park with stages that include different countries and the special elements that they use or have in their countries like clothes, food, music,dance and lots more. Bubble Gum Dance Crew

On Friday in the morning all the classes had walked there way to the hall. In the hall there were a group of girls waiting for our quittance. That group of girls were the Bubblegum Dance Crew. They had came to our school to perform an amazing dance for us. There were lots of smiles and we all enjoyed there performance. In the middle of there dance we had a time where we could ask them questions and they had introduced themselves. When they had finished there performance we had taken a school photo. They had showed us that it is possible to accomplish our dreams if we just believe in ourselves. Take a look at the photos that were taken.
